FAQs
When purchasing one of our hats, it’s important to be as accurate as possible with your head measurements to prevent getting a hat that is under or over-sized. You will need to measure your head using a tape measure, or you can improvise using a piece of string and a ruler.
To take your head measurement, place the string or tape around your head around where the hat will sit. This should roughly be about 1/8″ above your ear, across the mid-forehead, and completely circling your head. Hold the tape firmly, but not too tightly. If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the next largest size.
Some of our hats have different measurements for the same size, so be sure to double check each hat’s specific size chart.

- Mind the shape
Keep every single hat on a peg or hook that is wide enough not to create any dimples. If possible, keep your hat inside the beautiful box we will send your order in on a flat surface, like a shelf in your closet.
- Use the correct brush
Different hats need different brushes. The best way to clean a felt or wool hat is by using a soft bristle brush with gentle strokes in a counter-clockwise motion and you can also use a lint roller if necessary, while stiffer bristles perform best on leather hats. For straw, a gentle pass-over with a small whisk broom will get rid of dust and debris.
- Avoid water
If you get hit with a surprise from Nature, shake off as much excess water as you possibly can. Do not go running for a towel. Although it is okay to gently wipe off a straw hat, for felt and leather hats, you will need to brush off the water with the special brushes we just mentioned and let it air dry. Whatever you do, do not use a hairdryer, your radiator, or your clothes dryer to dry your hat.
